Tractor Supply announces its plan to build a new distribution center in Arkansas
In January 2022, Tractor Supply announced that it intends to break ground on a new distribution center in Maumelle, Arkansas. The facility will be an estimated 900,000 square feet and requires an initial investment of $100.0 million. Once completed, the facility will create more than 450 new full-time jobs by the end of 2023 and serve roughly 250 Tractor Supply stores. This would be the companies tenth distribution center and it represents a significant investment that will help grow the company’s store base and online sales. This comes shortly after Tractor Supply’s announcement of its new facility in Navarre, Ohio, which is set to be finished in late 2022.
StructuralIn response to volatile demand in the wake of the first COVID-19 surge, the company undertook a comprehensive cost reduction program, aimed at shoring up labor and supply costs.
